1. President

The President shall preside at all meetings of the Club and the Board, and perform all duties usually belonging to the office. The President has the authority to appoint Coordinatorships as required and approved by the Board. The President shall be the official point of contact with the LMS Principal and his/her staff and other supporting organizations, unless the President designates otherwise.

 

2. Vice President

Vice President shall assist the President in the duties of the office. In the absence, resignation, removal and/or termination of the President, the Vice President shall automatically assume the office and duties of the President.

 

3. Secretary

The Secretary shall keep the minutes of all Board and Club meetings and maintain a master set of the Bylaws and Amendments thereto, and standing rules as defined in Robert’s Rules of Order. The Secretary shall conduct and receive all correspondence of the Club and maintain a file of all correspondence and other documents relating to its operation. The Secretary shall notify all Board members within seven calendar days of the date of Board meetings, along with its agenda. The Secretary shall make available the Bylaws to the Board and to all other members upon request. The Secretary shall coordinate a newsletter and distribute it to all members.

 

4. Treasurer

The Treasurer shall receive all monies of the Club and deposit them in the official band account. He/she shall be the custodian of the funds of the Club and pay all bills after approval of the Board. He/she will keep accurate accounts of the funds held and will provide financial statements including all transactions at each monthly meeting. In accordance with state and federal regulations governing 501(c)(3) charity organizations, the accounting will follow “Generally Accepted Accounting Practices.” The Treasurer, assisted by the Secretary, shall be responsible for filing the appropriate reports with the state’s Tax Franchise Board and the Internal Revenue Service as prescribed in all applicable regulations. The Treasurer shall also serve on the Ways and Means Committee in an advisory capacity.

 

5. Membership Coordinator

Membership Coordinator shall manage all activities related to the registration of members, including tracking of dues. He/she shall compile, maintain, and distribute a membership roster to the Board.

 

6. Ways and Means Coordinator

The Ways and Means Coordinator shall head a committee that assists the Board in determining the financial needs of the Program and will coordinate the fundraising activities of the Club in cooperation with the Program’s Director.

 

7. Transportation Coordinator

The Transportation Coordinator shall be in charge of coordinating the transporting students and equipment to program events and assigning chaperones, as requested by the Program’s Director. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, providing maps, making first aid kits available and responsible for maintaining the emergency packet.

 

8. Historian/Publicity Coordinator

The Historian/Publicity Coordinator shall be responsible for the Program’s publicity involving performances, and will engage the assistance of a committee of volunteers to conduct photography and videography, production of news releases, and compilation of pertinent historical documents.

 

9. The Program’s Director (non-voting, does not count for quorum)

The Program’s Director shall articulate the status, prospects and needs of the Program to the Board.  He/she will act as liaison between student performers and the Club. Since the Director is an LAUSD employee and the fundraising activities of the Club may enhance his terms of employment, conflict of interest laws dictate that he/she serve without a vote and act in an advisory role only.
